School is starting, the leaves are starting to fall from the trees. The weather is edging towards the colder end. There are no holidays right away, but Halloween seems right around the corner, especially since the start of school seems to always go by too fast.

During the summer, five students went missing before they were found a few days later with the small star scar on their wrist. Some were hoping the students would be safe at Hogwarts - but on the very first day a student went missing, only to be returned just as those in the summer had, appearing where they had disappeared from.

The ministry has urged caution and for no student to go anywhere alone, seeing as all disappearances were those who were going to attend Hogwarts in the fall. But with no leads as to how, why, or who are behind these abductions, no one is quite sure what to do.

Okay okay, so idea time. Near January/February time, Severus was attacked by a certain resident werewolf and asked to be quiet by Dumbledore about it. He agreed, though begrudgingly, deciding he could use the information later. We know it happened at least during last year as Lily and Snape were talking about the attack in one of the memories in the books, so I've placed it around the beginning of the new year, and then their fallout around OWL time.

Enough of my rambling there - this would mean that Aub got to see Severus in one of his most vulnerable times as he usually is able to hide his fears. However, coming face to face with a werewolf and then getting pushed back by a giant stag who saved his life (though likely injuring him in the process), would definitely affect him when he went to get healed afterwards. Thus, awkwardness with Sev ensues because now Aub saw him completely and totally frightened. And so he would avoid Aub as much as possible, and given Aub's personality I would see him as the type who would try to knock that out of Sev in some way. Coming to find him, especially when he hears Sev hurt himself or something doing some potions.

I also see Sev as a common person in the hospital wing as he's someone who experiments with potions and sticks his nose in places it shouldn't... as well as gets in fights with the Marauders... So after the avoiding bit, Aub would definitely notice how little he showed up... and teachers might notice Sev walking around injured as he knows healing but not a ton of healing... I feel like I'm rambling but that is my ideas! Also, Aub would notice his new haircut, shorter hair now like in the hover image.

Aub would have been upset about a student being attacked, especially if he heard the whole story. He definitely would have taken good care of Severus and made sure he was alright. I don't think he would have even strayed outside of the Hospital Wing until Severus was better and back to classes.

Oh Aub would definitely keep an eye on Sev with the new year starting, especially because of the attack. He's very big on protecting students and making sure their injuries are taken care of so he would certainly track Sev down if he won't come to him. And if he's a common sight in the wing Aub would likely chat with him, see how he's doing even if he doesn't say much back haha.

I could also see him breaking up fights or bullying now that he's more established at the school and know Sev is being bullied. He's very much the type to have a good scolding voice when he needs to! Aub might even take Seb aside to help him with healing spells and give him tips on healing potions, especially if he thinks Sev needs someone to talk to who won't tell anyone else.

This excites me how perfectly this works out for the pair of them. I can see the beginning of an amazing relationship here. But yeah, Sev would mostly avoid Aub after the attack, especially after his fight with Lily and the whole summer and such. Plus with the main site plot, Aub might be a bit busy with trying to help students who go missing (I hope to one day have Sev be one of these missing people, which would make things even more fun when he appears back).

I think it'll be a very interesting relationship for sure. Auberon doesn't give up very easily on people so he'd be at Sev to make sure he'd doing well. The main site plot will certainly keep him busy but he would still make the time to keep Sev safe. He's just going to pop up in random portions of the castle and offer Sev candy and chat at him xD Aub's going to be losing his mind about these missing kids, he'll try his best to see them healed but wit the mystery portion he won't know what's up. Heck he might even admit that he feels out of his depth with the abductions.

So for threading, I have one in the castle which is your typical, hey I got a free period its the first day and I'm brooding in a corner thread, and then one in the forbidden forest where Sev is doing a bad thing and sticking his nose in places it shouldn't go, so either of them would definitely work for Aub showing up randomly. The forest one would be funny for him to show up and offer candy, but it would likely lead to some scolding or warning Sev to stop doing dangerous things, and since its against school rules... well that's up to Aub. For the castle one it could be a fun sort of 'this is what they do and how he acts around Sev' sort of thread, and a check up on how Sev is... mentally and physically as he looks quite depressed and frustrated in that thread.

For starting out I think popping up near Sev in the entrance hall would be good. Gives Aub the chance to check up on him and see how he's doing. Though the forest could be a good secondary too, he's big on magical creatures so I'm sure he'd be out there scoping the forest out. He's big on rules but he wouldn't rat him out to anyone, just tell him he doesn't want him in danger or trouble. He'd very much scold him, but it wouldn't be overbearing about it either.
